Services & What to Expect

What's the difference between tree lopping and pruning?

Tree lopping involves cutting large sections of a tree to reduce its size. While it may provide a quick fix, it can stress the tree, lead to weak regrowth, and shorten its lifespan. Tree pruning is a more precise and controlled process that removes specific branches to improve tree health and encourage proper growth.

LiRo Tree Services follows Australian Standard AS 4373 to ensure pruning is done safely and correctly.

Yes, as long as you comply with the ACT Tree Protection Act 2005For large or complex trees, it’s best to hire a professional to avoid unnecessary safety risks, damage and improper green waste disposal.

LiRo Tree Services provides a full range of professional arborist services, including: tree removal, tree pruning and maintenance, stump grinding, dead wooding, power line clearance, emergency tree work, arborist reports, cable and bracing, and wood chipping.

Power Lines

Who is responsible for trees near power lines?

In most cases, the property owner is responsible for maintaining trees on their land, including those near power lines. Required clearances mean trees must be at least 1 metre from service lines or poles, 1.5 metres from low-voltage lines, and 2 metres from high-voltage lines.

Work near power lines must be carried out by an Evoenergy-accredited tree surgeon. LiRo Tree Services can confirm compliance requirements and carry out safe pruning or removal near power infrastructure.

Qualifications & Trust

What qualifications should I look for in an arborist?

When choosing an arborist, it’s essential they are properly qualified and insured. At a minimum, they should have a Certificate III in Arboriculture, full public liabilityworkers’ compensation coverage, and in-depth knowledge of ACT tree protection laws. LiRo Tree Services meets all required qualifications and brings local expertise to every job.
